Crucial Vitamin C

Vitamin C is effective in disease prevention of diseases such as coronary heart disease and cardiovascular diseases and others.
- Studies have shown that vitamin C helps prevent stroke. People who eat vegetables from six to seven days a week are at less risk for stroke than people who eat vegetables zero to two days a week.
- Many studies showed that an increased consumption of fruits and vegetables helps reduce the risk of cancer. It’s recommended that we eat at least five servings of fruits and vegetables daily to reduce the risk of cancer. Making the difference requires at least 80 to 180 mg of vitamin C daily.
- Decreased vitamin C as a result of aging can affect the level of cataract severity as we age. Cataracts are a leading cause of visual impairment. There has been found a relationship that vitamin C intake makes a difference.
- In urban areas lead toxicity is a problem for children, but studies have shown that vitamin C in large amounts can protect the body from the lead and create lower lead levels in the blood.
- Vitamin C can be used for treatment of diseases of cardiovascular diseases such as vasodiation. The use of vitamin C can increase the dilation of blood vessels, which can contribute to improvements over heart attack and then the damage to the brain caused by stroke.
- People with high blood pressure are at risk for developing cardiovascular diseases. Many studies have been developed that showed vitamin C can affect lowering the blood pressure.
In addition studies have shown that supplemental vitamin C might enhance the growth of cells, or protect them from the free radicals produced by radiation with some forms of chemotherapy.
